Welcome to Clans of the Amazon, an RPG based off the wonderful book series written by Erin Hunter known as Warriors. Here, there are four clans who live in a different kind of forest: the rainforest. Humans have gone extinct now, but they previously destroyed this beautiful ecosystem for their own selfish greed. Patches of the rainforest were left, and the clans formed in and around these patches. They emerged as Great Jungle Clan of the rainforest, Great River Clan of the Amazon, Great Air Clan of the meadow, and Great Fire Clan of the forest. They all have special qualities about them, and they all protect each other from a gang of great cats known as the Wild Cats, who have been and still are trying to kill off the great clans. Can you join the rainforest?
The Amazon Rainforest experiences a dry season and a wet season, unless very close to the equator where there are no seasons. The part of the rainforest where this takes place only experiences one season. Rain is frequent, temperatures are high, and humidity levels are high as well.

The Amazon Rainforest is a place of wonder. Colorful prey blends in with the colorful flora, while sneaky predators are always lurking in the shadows. It's thick, hot, and humid in the rainforest, and the cats skillfully climb from the forest floor to the understorey layer and sometimes even the canopy.
The forest clearing is a small clearing within the Amazon. The ground is soft and spongy with short grass and moss. Ferns and tall grass also cover the floor. The trees provide a nice, shady canopy as well as nice places in which to sleep for dens. Considering that very little light reaches the forest floor, Great Jungle Clan is lucky to have found a clearing in which they could settle and call their camp.
Great River Clan lives very close to the Amazon River. Their territory is not as densely populated with trees as Great Jungle Clan. It is actually rather open, very wet and marshy, and less like a rainforest than one would imagine. However, the farther away from the river and streams you get, the more trees you'll find. Great River Clan uses those trees for protection during the flooding season.
The raised forest is really just a small hill decorated with a few trees on which Great River Clan has situated their camp. The hill saves them from sudden, small, and off-schedule floods that the cats weren't expecting. The retreat for the annual flood is farther off, and for a good three moons, Great River Clan moves their camp from the raised forest to the flood retreat.
Long ago, humans used to tear down the rainforest. Tearing it down meant it could never grow back. After years and years, the tall trees just couldn't make it. In the place of cleared rainforests grew fields and meadows, plentiful with a new type of ecosystem. Great Air Clan lives in one of these beautiful fields, cherishing the open air that doesn't leave a suffocated feeling.
When you pick a camp, you want to pick the safest place, correct? That's what Great Air Clan did. Their camp is hidden behind numerous boulders and rocks which not only conceals them in the open plains, but it protects them from violent winds as well. The rocks make a great place to bathe in the sun or make announcements, too.
Annually, this land suffers a small fire during the time of the flood of the Amazon River. It only lasts a day or two, and is followed by a week of rain. The ashes are then planted into the soil, making it fertile, and letting the forest regrow. It's a difficult time, but it truly has hardened Great Fire Clan cats. The result of these annual fires makes a flourishing forest, only to be engulfed in flames at the climax of its regrowth.
Safe from annual fires, the ash cavern is where Great Fire Clan has stationed their camp. The entrance is a narrow gorge lined with hemlocks and beech trees, while the valley floor is full of wildflowers. The enormous cave has an opening at the top that allows sunlight in and a very tall waterfall that falls into a small plunge pool below.
At the top of the triangle created by three major and neutral landmarks sits the Great Kapok Tree. This tree is sacred and unclaimed by any clan, for every full moon, the great clans meet here at what is called a gathering. They are under the presence of their ancestors in MoonClan, and they share the latest news and ask for and offer help. It's a way of keeping the clans connected without getting rid of boundary lines.
Moon Falls is in the southwestern corner of the triangle of neutral territory. It is a sacred place recognized by a small waterfall that glistens with stars in both sun and moonlight. Behind the waterfall is a cave with moss beds and glowing rock walls. Walking into the cave while allowing the waterfall to pour over you activates a session of speaking with MoonClan. You then lay in a moss nest and will soon be speaking with your ancestors, but you truly have to believe. Medicine cats meet here to share tongues with MoonClan every half moon.
The Wild Cats' Lair is a cave in the southeastern corner of the neutral triangle between the four clans. It houses a gang of big cats such as tigers, leopards, jaguars, etc. who call themselves the Wild Cats. They want nothing more than to take out and terrorize the clans once and for all. They don't believe cats such as their kind should be in the rainforest. Only big cats. They want to annihilate the clans.
