Welcome to Clans of the Amazon, an RPG based off the wonderful book series written by Erin Hunter known as Warriors. Here, there are four clans who live in a different kind of forest: the rainforest. Humans have gone extinct now, but they previously destroyed this beautiful ecosystem for their own selfish greed. Patches of the rainforest were left, and the clans formed in and around these patches. They emerged as Great Jungle Clan of the rainforest, Great River Clan of the Amazon, Great Air Clan of the meadow, and Great Fire Clan of the forest. They all have special qualities about them, and they all protect each other from a gang of great cats known as the Wild Cats, who have been and still are trying to kill off the great clans. Can you join the rainforest?

Quasarspot of Great River Clan stepped softly into the clearing of the Great Kapok Tree behind Hazelstar. Looking around, he could see other cats beginning to file into the clearing behind their leaders. He could see Azurestar of Great Jungle Clan and Purestar of Great Air Clan. Remembering that the leader of Great Fire Clan had recently been bitten by a venemous snake, he wondered who would be the speaker for that Clan. He looked at the members of Great Fire Clan who had just arrived. At their head was a jet black cat with yellow eyes. Perhaps he was the deputy.
Tinycloud of Great Fire Clan trailed behind Blackbird watching the other Clans and feeling a little embarrassed that his was the only one without an official leader. He hoped no one would tease him. The distinct scents of all the other Clans reached his nose and he sniffed the air, trying to see if he could tell them apart. Suddenly, he stumbled on a root, and Kestrelpaw almost crashed into him. "Sorry," he said a little too loudly.
Songpaw quietly followed Purestar. She looked up toward the softly glowing moon, delighting in its beauty. The Great Kapok Tree was half-sillouetted in its silver light, tall, dark, and mysterious. Turning her attention back to the cats around her, the young medecine cat apprentice smiled in anticipation. She had been looking forward to meeting cats of other Clans since she had heard of the approaching Gathering. She loved the sense of peace and even friendship between Clans the Gathering gave.

{*.Purestar.*} Purestar proudly led his clan into the clearing of the Great Kapok Tree. Songpaw was following close behind him and he knew she had to be excited, she'd never been to a gathering before. He sat at the base of the tree and motioned for Songpaw to come sit with him.
As he was waiting for her his eyes scanned the clearing, noting all of the cats that were there. It was sad that Great Fire Clan did not have a leader, due to the death of their last one. He assumed it was only a matter of time before all of the leaders would be replaced by their respective deputies, he just hoped his time wouldn't come prematurely. He saw the leaders of Great River Clan and Great Jungle Clan however, Hazelstar and Azurestar.
Songpaw was now seated next to him and he turned to her. "So, your first gathering, how are you enjoying it so far?" he asked, amused at the look in her eyes. To him, she seemed to be awe-struck, seeing all of the cats from the other clans. He had to admit, it had been pretty overwhelming when he had attended his first gather all those moons ago!

{*.Tigertail.*}
Tigertail made a swift entry behind Hazelstar, his leader and recently, mate. The gathering never seemed to cease in being amazing. It had such a sense of friendship and equality with it and seeing all of the cats from other clans was always great. It gave everyone a chance to gossip about how they prey was running or what the kits were up to. He could now proudly say that he had three beautiful healthy kits of his own.
He found a nice place to sit and lounged around. He glanced at the apprentices all gathered together from each clan play-fighting and chatting away happily. He also noticed a few elders taking it easy and talking about the 'old days', a topic he honestly had no interest in. Everyone had to focus on the future and making it better than the past. He sat contentedly, watching all of the cats, wondering if any of his friends from other clans would come find him.

~Songpaw~ "Oh, I like it very much," Songpaw replied softly but enthusiastically, "Do...you think it would be okay for me to meet some cats from other Clans?" She had been looking forward to that the most, though she wondered it it would be wise to make friends with a cat from another Clan. They could end up in battle against each other someday. ~Quasarspot~ Quasarspot stepped silently up to Purestar and dipped his head as a sign of respect. "I am the deputy of Great River Clan," he informed the Clan leader, "I have come to request that you speak first for your Clan. Great River Clan has a very important matter to discuss, and we would like to save it for last...after all the frivolous matters are out of the way."

{*.Purestar.*} "Yes of course that would be alright Songpaw, you just need to make sure that you don't release information that is critical to our clan of course, but you know to not do that. So go enjoy, talk to other cats, just be sure you are quiet when the other leaders and I being to speak!" said Purestar, stressing the first and last parts of his small speech. He knew that Songpaw was responsible enough and he knew that he didn't have to worry about her making friends because even though he was teaching her to fight, she was the medicine cat apprentice after all, therefore she only need to use her fighting skills in the most extreme situations.
Just as he finished speaking to Songpaw, Quasarspot, the deputy of Great River Clan walked up to him. He dipped his head after the deputy, returning his respectful acknowledgment.
"I am the deputy of Great River Clan," he informed the Clan leader, "I have come to request that you speak first for your Clan. Great River Clan has a very important matter to discuss, and we would like to save it for last...after all the frivolous matters are out of the way."
He listened to the deputy speak and once he was finished Purestar's curiosity was piqued. However he didn't say anything or ask about it, instead replying, "Of course, that is not a problem, however this issue must be quite important for you to request this. I will announce my news once the others have climbed the Great Kapok, for now we will wait."
-------------------------------------------------------------- {*.Tigertail.*} Tigertail sat calmly in his spot watching the conversations with curiosity. Especially the exchange between Purestar, the leader of Great Ar Clan and an apprentice, whom he had never seen here before. Also, the exchange between Purestar and Quasarspot, he was wondering why Quasarspot was talking with Purestar and then he clued in that it may have to do with the wildcat that was on their territory last moon. He concluded that it must be the reason and went back to scanning the clearing for no cat in particular.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

~Songpaw and Tinycloud~ Songpaw dipped her head respectfully to Purestar and took her leave as Quasarspot approached. She tripped timidly over to the group of Great Fire Clan cats, and looked around at them, wondering which one was the leader. She was nervous to talk to another Clan's leader, and she didn't want to accidentally run into one. She would prefer to meet a cat more at her level. After a while, she picked out a cat who looked particularly unimposing--a chubby, orange Scottish Fold with a rounded tail and an overall friendly appearance. Inching toward him, she opened her mouth a few times, trying to bring herself to say 'hello'. She had never been particularly good at starting conversations, especially with cats she didn't know. Finally, she managed to say, "Um," and the cat turned around. "Oh, hello," he mewed, "Never seen you before. What Clan are you from?" "Great Air Clan," Songpaw replied with some relief. The orange cat seemed very talkative, so she knew she wouldn't have to do too much talking herself. "Oh, okay. I'm from Great Fire Clan--in case you didn't know. My name's Tinycloud. How about you?" "I'm Songpaw," she replied. "Oh, so you're an apprentice? Great! I'm training an apprentice now--Kestrelpaw. Maybe you'd like to meet her?" "I would," Songpaw rejoined, and, not wanting to leave it unsaid, added, "I'm actually a medicine cat apprentice." "What? Then you're too high-'n-mighty for Kestrelpaw?" Tinycloud teased. Songpaw took it seriously and reacted in alarm, "No! No at all! I just thought you might like to know..." "My, you're jumpy," Tinycloud laughed, "All right, I'll introduce you to Kestrelpaw."

((OOC: Oops, I'm a bit late - hopefully it's okay that I made up some stuff about the leader? And also, is Blackbird deputy?))
Blackbird flicked his tail as he lead Great Fire Clan into the gathering. It felt so strange to lead such a large group of cats; after all, he'd only been deputy for a couple of days and wasn't yet experienced in the matter of leadership.
His eyes focused determinedly on the Great Kapok Tree as he tried to ignore the stares from various cats around the clearing. With a sweeping glance, he located the other leaders and quickly headed over in their direction.
"My apologies for being late" he purred silkily, nodding his hello's to Hazelstar, Purestar and a cat he didn't recognize. "Unfortunately, our old leader, Tawnystar, has passed away... and our new leader is unable to attend because he has been bitten by a highly venemous snake, and is currently being treated by our medicine cat. I have recently been appointed deputy, and will be filling in for this Gathering"
It felt strange to be amongst such high-ranking cats, and yet Blackbird still kept his haughty demeanor, gazing at the leaders as though they were a waste of his time. Inside, he was extremely nervous. He had only been accepted as a warrior a few moons ago, and here he was chatting to some of the most powerful cats in the forest.
"Ha! I almost forgot to tell you my name!" A wry grin crept to the corner of his mouth. "Blackbird of Great Fire Clan at your service..." He bowed dramatically, unable to hide the smirk.

The night was young, and Great Fire Clan was still small. Not nearly as small as they could be, but it unnerved Kestrelpaw that they could be attacked by another Clan and not survive. Often than not, she constantly wondered what would happen during the Gathering. Would things go smoothly? Would people reject her because of her Clan's history? It made her blood boil to even think about that sort of rejection.
She had followed Tinycloud, her mentor and what she could call a friend. He was certainly nice enough, though they weren't exactly close. Acquaintances seemed like a better word, yet it felt off. Whatever they were, it was working out for the better.
The cat that lead them to the gathering wasn't their leader, who had been injured by a snake, but instead their deputy, Blackbird. Kestrelpaw wasn't sure about Blackbird, but he must have been strong enough to gain such a rank. It made her heart burn for when she'd be able to challenge him someday. Starclan know she's always wanted to be strong and in control.
A flash of orange fur suddenly came into her sight. She stopped, stumbling over her feet to not crash into Tinycloud. A tiny hiss came from her out of surprise. "Sorry."
"Just make sure you pay attention," she said, annoyed from almost crashing into him.
Sooner than she expected they reached the Kapok tree, the other Clans waiting for them. Kestrelpaw kept Tinycloud in sight as she ventured around, not taking the effort to talk to those around her. The various scents of the clans were different. Air Clan had a scent she couldn't understand, Jungle Clan smelt of the jungle itself, River Clan smelt like fish, and of course Fire Clan kept its signature smokey smell, something she hadn't enjoyed but had grown used to.
She noticed out of the corner of her eye that Tinycloud was talking to a younger bark colored female. Kestrelpaw turned her face away from them. What he did was of no concern to her. ooc: i have no idea where i was going with this post haha.

~Songpaw and Tinycloud~ Just as Kestrelpaw was turning away, Tinycloud stepped up to her, grinned, and mewed, "Hey, Kestrelpaw! Wanna meet my new friend? Her name's Songpaw and she's from Great Air Clan. She's a medicine cat apprentice. Impressive, huh?" Songpaw felt her face grow warm, and she wondered nervously if Kestrelpaw was even interested in meeting her. She had taken a liking to Tinycloud because he was quite friendly, but he definitely seemed a little too gregarious and maybe a bit naive. ~Quasarspot~ "Quasarspot of Great River Clan at yours," Quasarspot returned Blackbird's greeting formally, "I presume you will be speaking for you Clan, as your leader is ill. I am sorry to hear of his misfortune." The Great Fire Clan deputy struck him as very cold and arrogant, but the smirk that had appeared on his face at his mistake made Quasarspot wonder if he was usually this haughty.
