Welcome to Clans of the Amazon, an RPG based off the wonderful book series written by Erin Hunter known as Warriors. Here, there are four clans who live in a different kind of forest: the rainforest. Humans have gone extinct now, but they previously destroyed this beautiful ecosystem for their own selfish greed. Patches of the rainforest were left, and the clans formed in and around these patches. They emerged as Great Jungle Clan of the rainforest, Great River Clan of the Amazon, Great Air Clan of the meadow, and Great Fire Clan of the forest. They all have special qualities about them, and they all protect each other from a gang of great cats known as the Wild Cats, who have been and still are trying to kill off the great clans. Can you join the rainforest?

Training Kestrelpaw

"So, I'm supposed to give you some training lessons, huh?" Tinycloud grinned casually, "Well...I've never done anything like this before, so I don't know where to start, but I guess, um..." he tilted his round head to the side and looked up at the clouds, thinking, "Oh, I know! We can have a little fight so I can assess your abilities." He attempted to seem technical and serious with the last phrase, but he looked excited at the prospect, for he loved play-fighting, as he called it. "We'll do it with our claws sheathed so no one will get hurt, okay?"

Kestrelpaw listened to Tinycloud as he explained what they were going to do with some dislike. Though she didn't hate Tinycloud, far from it, she loathed being told what to do. At his mention of a fight, her ears perked up and her eyes gained a certain gleam.
"A fight? Sure," she mewed almost excitingly, "I love a challenge."
She backed up a bit before crouching, keeping her head somewhat low. Her tail wriggled slightly before going straight, a sign of her concentration. Her paws gripped the ground while she waited for her mentor to get ready. She wasn't sure if it was right to take the sort of stance she was taking as it seemed somewhat playful instead of serious, but it always felt right to her.
ooc: so short. ;-; btw i've never really done a training/mentor thread before so if i mess up a tad sorry.

Tinycloud crouched down absurdly, grinning, his hind end up in the air and his thick, rounded tail twitching. "I guess since you're the apprintice, you should attack first," he invited, "I'm ready now."

Kestrelpaw nodded, her eyes scanning over Tinycloud quickly. Before she could think twice about her move, she dashed toward him, paw raised to hit his face directly.
Though Kestrelpaw had been an Apprentice for 4 moons, she wasn't so great at fighting, though she liked it because of the challenge. So to say her direct approach was good was an overstatement.

Tinycloud rolled over, avoiding the attack, and scrambled clumsily back to his feet. Then he whipped around and ran at Kestrelpaw. The way he had dodged the attack had brought him around so that he was facing her side, so he lowered his head, intending to bowl into her and knock her down.

Kestrelpaw's ears warmed slightly at missing Tinycloud's face, but she didn't have much time to reflect on it as her came dashing at her side. She grunted soflty as she was hit before turning to bat at his head instead of creating distance between them. To her, battle was up close and personal instead of far away and distant.

Kestrelpaw's blow landed squarely on Tinycloud's folded-back ear making a very loud sound like a small explosion in his head. He stumbled back a few steps, blinking rapidly. "Good one," he managed to say as he clumsily regained his balance and pounced at Kestrelpaw, hoping to knock her down and maybe even pin her to the ground.

Kestrelpaw felt pride bloom in her chest at the fact that she had hit her mentor on one of his weak spots. She had blindly went in to hit him, after all. She became breathless as Tinycloud pounced on her, the attack she hadn't been expecting. She squirmed underneath him, paws batting blindly, yet again, towards his chest and belly.

Tinycloud had managed to pin down Kestrelpaw's forepaws, but he immediately realized he had left her hindpaws loose as she began kicking him hard in the stomach with them. He scrambled off her, trying to regain the breath that had been knocked out of him. He realized that this would give Kestrelpaw an instant to attack, but a plan suddenly formed in his mind. All right, let her attack, he thought to himself.

Kestrelpaw stumbled up, watching Tinycloud with wary eyes, yet somewhat upset that she had gotten trapped underneath him. He could have gotten a clear shot to her neck because of her mistake.
She dashed at him, her paws aimed for his left side. Though she let her emotions control her attacks more than often, which wasn't good, she knew some things about fighting--enough to know where one should hit. She kept her body to the left as well, common sense telling her he could thrash at her unprotected hind and tail.

Perfect! Tinycloud thought. Kestrelpaw's attack wasn't a bad one, nor would it have necessarily been a strategical mistake. However, it was the most logical attack, and thus the one Tinycloud had been expecting. As Kestrelpaw leaped at him, thrusting her paws forward, he spun around 180 degrees, pivoting on his forepaws so that he was facing Kestrelpaw. Then he lunged toward her caught the scruff of her neck in his mouth. As he was doing so, Kestrelpaw landed a blow on his side with her left paw, making her attack partially successful. Tinycloud staggered, but managed to hold on. I'm in a good position, but I'm not out of reach of her attacks, he realized.

(ooc: how long would you like this to continue out? c:)
Kestrelpaw wriggled in Tinycloud's jaw. Though she was closer to the size of an adult, she was still small and had trouble getting out of Tinycloud's hold. In an almost grudging way, she became limp, ready to give up. If only she could reach him! Her front paws wouldn't be able to hit him from her standpoint, and she doubted she had enough energy or space to use her back legs.

(occ: I'll leave it open for the battle to stop after this post, and you can decide whether to continue or not.)
Feeling Kestrelpaw relaxing in his grip, Tinycloud released her, taking a step back. "So...are you done then?" he queried, not sure if she had intended to admit defeat or not.
