Welcome to Clans of the Amazon, an RPG based off the wonderful book series written by Erin Hunter known as Warriors. Here, there are four clans who live in a different kind of forest: the rainforest. Humans have gone extinct now, but they previously destroyed this beautiful ecosystem for their own selfish greed. Patches of the rainforest were left, and the clans formed in and around these patches. They emerged as Great Jungle Clan of the rainforest, Great River Clan of the Amazon, Great Air Clan of the meadow, and Great Fire Clan of the forest. They all have special qualities about them, and they all protect each other from a gang of great cats known as the Wild Cats, who have been and still are trying to kill off the great clans. Can you join the rainforest?

Maplestep chuckled as she hopped off her branch and ran after her leader, catching up and nudging his shoulder gently with her head,"Well it seems I've put someone in a decent mood. I just hope it lasts longer than five minutes, your funny when your happy.", she said and smiled. Feeling full of energy now that'd he'd joked with her she bounded ahead, tail held high, before doubling back.
She skidded to a halt beside him before she dashed down the path towards the stream, her tail streaming out behind her as she ran. She skidded to a halt about ten tail lengths away as not to scare any prey. She glanced back at him smiling, her paws tingling with anticipation.
She liked his good mood, this was the first he'd ever actually joked with her and she found it fun. She glanced back to the stream, closing her eyes so she could fixate on her hearing. She had taught herself that by not seeing amything or scenting for things she could tune into her hearing very well.

Oakstar trailed after her, amused with her kit-like excitement. His body loped after her, his long tail now dragging behind him in the dirt. His body began to shiver as he realized he was about to hunt. Immediatlely, he separated from Maplestep. He needed to call on his bloodlust. It didn't take long. Soon, the tom's claws where unsheated, sinking into the forest floor, and his eyes were flashing around hungrily. His lip curled up, baring his unusual sharp fangs. He breathed in, closing his eyes to catch a scent.
Then it hit him like a train. The scent of water vole came to him, and he had to keep himself from letting out a savage growl of excitement. He creeped through the bushes and vines, then peered through the bushes. Just like he had expected, the water vole was sunbathing in a patch of sunlight, its belly plump. You're mine, he thought lustfully, eyes fixening on it.
The leader crept forward silently, pinpointing the creature. It was so oblivious a noisy inexperienced apprentice could have caught it. Oakstar crouched, haunch wriggling to prepare his hinds. Then his hind legs uncoiled, and he was launched into the air. Immediately, the water vole looked up, then terror flashed through its eyes. But it was too late. Oakstar landed smack on the vole, and fastened his teeth into its neck, but not enough to kill it. He thrust his head side to side, making it gurgle in pain. He then set it down, neck severely injured, but still alive. The tom reached down and bit into his neck, finishing him off. He sent a thanks to MoonClan before lapping at the excess blood oozing from the dead creature's neck. It was warm, and sent tingles of sick joy down his spine.

Maplestep slid her paws forward towards a scrabbling on a rock. She slipped towards it, knowing it was a vole. She crouched on the edge and leaped elegantly and neatly onto a rock. She sat, curling her tail neatly around her paws as she crouched.
She watched the vole climb up, scaring away a turtle that had been lazily sleeping. She knew it would be slippery from the way the vole was still wet and the rock covered in moss. Bunching her haunches she prepared to jump, waiting until it was on the rock.
She then jumped, land squarely with her paws holding its legs and killed it with a swift bite to the spine. She picked it up and turned, jumping off the rock but the wet moss caused her to slip and land in the shallows, mouth first. She stood and quickly darted out, shaking out her long fur as set the vole down. She frowned, furiously licking at her pelt.

Oakstar finished licking up the excess blood before looking up. His hunt made him end up a few fox-lengths downstream from her, and when he looked up he immediately pinpointed her. He watched her curiously, wondering if she had noticed the wet mossy rock she was about to spring onto. Apparently she had, because she had been prepared, and he watched, pleased, as her claws dug into the moss to keep her balance.
But she sheathed her claws too quick.
In a split second, she was hurtled towards the stream, headfirst into the gentle trickling water. At first Oakstar was tense, an immediate reaction, until he saw her head pop up out of the water. Once she had reached the bank, he stared at her. Then, a snicker erupted from his jaws. Then it turned into a chuckle. Then it turned into full-blown laughter. The tom rolled over onto his back, kicking his legs up in the air at the sight of her dripping wet.
Now this was a gift from MoonClan themselves. Never had a cat seen him laugh so freely, so loudly either. It seemed even the birds stopped chattering in surprise.

Maplestep smiled at his laughter, walking over and dropping ghe vole she pounced on him playfully,"What so funny? Ever seen a cat slip before?", she asked him, pinning him gentally and loosely so he could slip away when he wanted too. She tilted her head, flicking a water droplet off her ear as she listened to his laughs.
It was nice to hear his laughs, to see he was becoming more comfortable around her, it made her feel goid about herself. She was glad she was able to befriend such a distant cat.
Purring slightly she shook her head, chuckling,"Your an odd one Oakstar.", she purred to him slightly. It was meant as a good thing not a bad and she knew from the way shed said it he'd hear it how she meant it.

Oakstar growled playfully, using his hindlegs to kick her gently off of him. He shook out his fur, having received a little of her water. He then sat down on the bank and sighed. It had been a while since he had been so friendly and alive.
The tom wondered if this was how normal cats lived, happy and carefree without insanity closing in every time they were alone. He shook his head, clearing it. "You're really calling me the odd one?" he scoffed, tail flicking.
He suddenly resumed his usual leader like personality, the one he used around other cats. He began washing himself thoroughly, smoothening out his fur. After he was satisfied with his pelt, he grunted before kicking dirt over his kill. "Shall we continue?" he asked, casting a glance at her.

Maplepelt jumped back off him, chuckling lightly. She smiled at his question,"Yes I am, but then again which of us don't have quirks? They make us individuals.", she purred and stretched, arching her back low. Her claws stretched out, scraping at the ground lightly as she stood back up.
She gave her fur a few quick licks to clear it of water and shrugged at his next question,"If you'd like to then by all means lets continuing. But my splashing scared more than just the minnows so I suggest we move a little upstream.", she said.
She was pleased he had relaxed around her and gotten playful, it was nice to see a leader as focused on his duties as him have some fun. He wasn't much older than her and therefore only right he was a lighter hearted.

Oakstar nodded in agreement before quietly moving upstream, staying by the edge of the river. They got to a more deep spot in the stream where the bank became more like a shore. The tom felt his stomach churn uneasily for some unknown reason. He glanced at the water suspiciously but all he saw were logs.
As they moved on, he suddenly realized something Vinestar told him; "When you see a log, it means trouble." The leader whipped around, suddenly panicked. Maplestep was right behind him, but something was moving in the water towards the unaware she-cats.
One of the logs.
"Maplestep! Watch out!" he yowled. A caiman suddenly lunge towards her with a mouth filled with 75 sharp teeth and the jaw power strong enough to crush a cat in one chomp. It made a roar before opening its mouth, about to close in on Maplestep.
Oakstar lunged forward, snarling. He bowled Maplestep a fox-length away while narrowly dodging the chomp of the deadly alligator. Oakstar knew better to assume he was done. The other 'logs' had gathered around and were surrounding him.
Oakstar let out a terrifying snarl, but the caiman were unimpressed. The first one lunged again, and Oakstar barely darted away from the deadly bite. Seeing his opportunity, he leaped onto the alligator's head and scratched at its eyes. It roared in protest before going into a common defense mechanism and rolling over onto his back. The leader was crushed underneath the weight, but it soon disappeared. He looked up to see what had saved him to see a giant tiger roaring savagely and beating the alligators back with large paws. They immediately retreated, knowing their match. Oakstar got to his feet and sprinted, hissing after Maplestep, "Run!"
After getting a while away, he looked back and realized he could smell the scent of milk, and guessed the female tiger thought Oakstar was one of her cubs for a minute. [/size]

Maplestep slid away from the caiman wide eyed. As he yelled run she waited for him to get beside her before sprinting away and jymping up into a tree. She hissed in frustration, clawing at the branch. She shook her head, feeling mousebrained. Looking to him she hung her head, her claws digging into the wood,"I'm sorry Oakstar, I should have guessed...are you alright?", she asked him quietly as she glanced up sadly.
She hopped over beside him and gently nosed his shoulder, not waiting for a response. She guessed he'd probably get annoyed with her for this but couldn't hep it. She felt guilty and needed to check on him.
She sighed as she felt nothing broken and pulled back, staring at the ground. Maplestep felt shed put their lives in danger.

Oakstar panted breathlessly, green eyes wide at the pure luck of the situation. He tried to make his fur relax, and when it wouldn't he began lapping at it till it did. He kind of shied away from Maplestep's touch, unused to and uncomfortable being touched by other cats not in an aggressive way.
"You're fine, Maplestep," he meowed, "Caiman aren't usually out during the day. Plus, most warriors have never even had an encounter with the brutes. They don't think to warn their apprentices."
His body felt sore from being underneath the alligator's weight, and his paw felt sprained, but he was alive, and so was Maplestep. All was well. Oakstar sent a prayer of thanks to MoonClan for the sparing of his ninth life. Luckily, as of late, the forest had been very quiet since he became leader four moons ago. He still had all his nine lives.

Maplsestep sighed and frowned, looking over to him with worry still visible in her brown eyes,"Your absolutely positive your alright?", she asked and and bent her head to sniff at his paws once before looking back to him. She let out a short half cut off sigh and shook her head. "Fine i believe you.", she said and curled her tail around her paws.
Her ears flicked as she listened to the sounds of the forest, then heard a scrabbling below them. She looked down to see a water vole headed back towards the water but it had stopped to nibble on something. She bunched her haunches, bringing her tail out behind and pounced out of the tree onto the little creature. The weight of the blow on his back had killed him instantly.
Purring with delight that she had regained her balance she shook away the memory of how close the cayman had gotten. She dropped the vole at the base the trees and crouched extremely low to the ground, listening for more.

Oakstar watched her kill before bearing a caw above him. A beautiful parrot was perched a few branches away, nibbling at a berry. His body instantly started scaling the large mossy trunk, stopping to rest on the branches in between them.
Soon enough he was hovering over the parrot, who was oblivious to its predator. It continued eating the berries. The bloodlust began to creep up on Oakstar, and his claws flexed into the bark of his branch. The bird's branch was below him and a little to the left of the toms, giving him a perfect striking opportunity.
Oakstar prepared his muscles, pinpointing the best way to strike the prey. After he analyzed the situation, he realized it would be a hard catch after all. The bird was perched on a very thin branch, and the bulky male would have trouble keeping his balance while also trying to catch the prey.
After thinking it over, he decided he would. Odds were in favor of the bird, but the bloodlust had already set in. Oakstar uncoiled his legs and sprang at the bird. The bird tried to fly away but Oakstar's claws caught on its colorful wing and yanked it back to him. The tom landed on the branch and immediately dug his claws into it to keep his balance. He used the claw that entrapped the bird to bring it towards him. His teeth met its neck, and although he was pecked a few times, managed to make the kill.

Maplestep hopped up then climbed to a branch beside the one he was on. The vole was in her mouth and she held it between her paws as she smiled at him and nodded to the parrot. "Good catch!", she purred to him and picked up the vole, jumping over onto the base of the branch.
She climbed a bit higher in tree of pure curiosity, leaving the vole at the base of the branch. She clung to the tree trunk, her clawsing trying to a grip on the slippery moss and smooth bark. She felt her heart race as she slipped slightly but quickly regained her balance.
She climbed back down a few minutes later after she had disappeared into the thick foliage. She was purring and her eyes shining,"You should go look. That sight will take your breathe away....", she said and rubbed her cheek to his shoulder, gently nudging him towards the trunk. She nodded at the bird,"I can take that while you go look."

Oakstar nodded, grinning politely. "Thank you, Maplestep," he said, setting his bird down. He watched her scale the tree to the canopy. He heard her remark before silently springing after her, leaving his bird on the branch.
His claws dug into the trunk, easily pulling his body up the length of the tree. It felt good on his claws to climb, and it was a natural motion for GJC cats.
Once he reached the top, he was wary on the thin branches, digging his claws into the damp bark. He soon found a sturdy branch next to Maplestep and poked his head through the canopy of leaves. She was right. It was beautiful. There were giant leaves belonging to other trees surrounding the tree he was perched on. He saw some chimps squealing and swinging through the trees. "Wow..." he breathed.

Maplestep smiled and nodded "Its still early so the sun is low and the way its reflecting off the water in the distance...this is your clan territory Oakstar. Isn't it beautiful?" she asked him with a smiled. She held onto the bird as she waited for a response. She'd always had a knack for finding beautiul scenery. She saw things like no other cat and was very picky about details, she could find a broken and crushed shell and find meaning in it.
She smiled, flicking her tail contently behind her and purring slightly. The scene had warmed her heart, the colorful birds flying through the trees and the way the sun was peeking through the highest canopy of leaves. It made her smile that there was such beauty in their world.
Maplestep sighed as she thought, she wished her father were around. She'd been abandoned by him here in Great Jungle Clan after her mother had died. He was a loner and she didn't remember him at all really.
